No SMS voting, two-day launch, … – Here are new twists and expectations from BBNaija season 6


• The organizers of Africa’s biggest reality TV show, MultiChoice announced on Monday, July 19 that the season 6, 2021 edition of the reality TV show premieres on Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25th respectively.

And following the announcement, there are some twists to be expected from the show as it kicks off in few days time.

Below are the new twists and exptections as compiled by ValidUpdates.

No SMS Voting

Firstly, MultiChoice revealed that there will be no SMS voting during the BBNaija season 6 show and this simply means that voting for favourite Housemates by viewers will be done only on Africa Magic official website and via MyDStv and MYGOtv apps.


Two-day launch

The second surprise to be expected from the show is that the premiere will be on Saturday and Sunday, unlike the usual tradition of Sunday premiere during the previous seasons.

And these two-day premiere will happen on July 24th and 25th respectively.

UK viewers opportunity

According to MultiChoice, the Big Brother Naija viewers in the United Kingdom will have ample opportunity to watch the show live via the official streaming app, Showmax.

In a simpler term, fans in the United Kingdom will have access to the live 24/7 show via African online streaming service, Showmax.


Winner’s grand prize

The season 6 edition of BBNaija reality TV show according to MultiChoice will see the winner go home with a whopping grand prize of N90 million.

Even though the prizes won by the previous seasons winners were huge, this year’s prize has been termed the biggest in reality TV show reward on the continent.

10-Week long (72 days)

This year, contestants will have 72 days which sums up to 10 weeks to stay in Biggie’s House and during this period, Housemates will be competing with each other in quest for the grand prize worth N90 million.



Big Brother Naija season 6 will run 24/7 on DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Confam and Yanga packages on channel 198 and on GOtv Max and Jolli packages on channel 29 with a simulcast on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban and Africa Magic Family.

Meanwhile, speaking on the premiere of the show, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe said: “With each season of BBNaija we task ourselves on delivering great content that will take the excitement a notch higher and meet the entertainment needs of our customers.

“For this sixth season, we are pulling all the stops to give our customers a show like never seen before from Nigeria with end-to-end production best practices under global health and safety standards”.
