The acronym, FC in Nigeria music setting stands for Fans Club but was changed to Football Club after the major deal music star, Wizkid had with American multinational corporation, Nike in 2018 before the World Cup in Russia.
Wizkid on February 7, 2018, signed a partnership deal with Nike and the deal became widely celebrated in the world of Wizkid fans, who immediately nicknamed themselves Wizkid FC.
At that time, members of Wizkid FC (formerly known as Wizkid fans) celebrated the new deal, as it becomes the first African music fan base to have an official jersey, though the production was basically for Nigeria football team, Super Eagles prior to their June/July 2018 World Cup participation.
Meanwhile, Wizkid FC expanded its horizon in 2018 after a football club in Kano State, Nigeria out of their love for Wizkid decided to change their club's name to Wizkid FC. And Wizkid himself has no direct hand in the formation of the club.
Hours after the Kano State club shared the news on social media with pictures of the proposed new kits and their players, Wizkid responded with a promise to send the newly Nike-designed official kit to them.
